Will You Be Made Whole
In John 5:6, Jesus asked a man who had been afflicted for thirty-eight years, “Wilt thou be made whole?” This question, though simple, holds a profound spiritual meaning. Jesus was not only addressing the man’s physical condition but also his willingness to receive emotional healing and transformation.
Many times, we find ourselves stuck - whether in fear, doubt, or burdens we have carried for years. We struggle with past failures, disappointments, and wounds that seem too deep to heal. Yet, Jesus stands before us, asking the same question: Do you truly desire to be made whole?
Wholeness is not merely about physical well-being; it encompasses spiritual renewal, emotional freedom, and a heart fully surrendered to God. Often, it requires letting go of the things that have kept us bound. It means releasing our excuses, stepping out of our comfort zones, and trusting that the Lord’s power is greater than our struggles.
Waiting for the Waters to Stir
The man at the pool of Bethesda had been waiting, hoping that the troubled waters would bring healing, yet he remained in the same state for decades. How often do we wait for external circumstances to change when Jesus Himself is offering us deliverance?
We convince ourselves that if only things were different - if we had more resources, if we were stronger, if we had better opportunities - then we could walk in victory.
But Jesus does not ask us to wait for the right conditions. He invites us to trust Him now.
“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit” Psalm 34:18. His healing is not dependent on man-made solutions but on our willingness to receive His touch.
The Power of His Word
When Jesus speaks, miracles happen. With a word, He commanded, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk” John 5:8. Immediately, the man was healed. This reminds us that our restoration is not a slow process bound by human limitations but an act of divine power. Jesus tells us in Mark 9:23 “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
The same God who healed the man at Bethesda is the One who holds your life in His hands. He is not bound by time, circumstances, or the opinions of others. His healing is not distant or unattainable - it is available to you today.
Settling for Less Than God’s Best
Are there areas in your life where you have settled for less than God’s best? Have you allowed fear, past failures, or discouragement to keep you from receiving the fullness of what God offers? Satan delights in keeping us bound in a place of hopelessness,
whispering lies that we are too broken, too far gone, or too unworthy of healing. But Jesus refutes those lies with an open invitation: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28.
His healing is not just physical - it is emotional, spiritual, and complete. He does not simply patch up wounds; He restores, renews, and transforms.
The Great Physician is Here
Like the man at Bethesda, you don’t have to wait any longer. Jesus, the Great Physician, is here.
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds” Psalm 147:3.
No condition is beyond His reach, and no past is too broken for His redemption.
Today, He asks, "Wilt thou be made whole?" The choice is yours. Will you trust Him? Will you surrender every burden and rise in faith? The same Savior who healed that man is the One who offers you healing today.
Come to Him, believe Him, and be made whole.
